Photo: Impala name plate

Barely visible in yesterday's photo was an Impala that had already been loaded into the truck.  Here is a detail shot of the Impala's nameplate.  My husband likes this, as his parents drove a 1963 Chevy Impala when he was a teenager, and that was the car in which he learned to drive.

This week we are showing some photos of the architecture and gardens of the villas on the Borromean Islands in the Lakes region of northern Italy on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

I used to see this name plate on the family car every day.

The don't make auto nameplates like they used to.

The don't make hood ornaments like they used to, either.

That goes back a long ways. I had an Impala in the early '70s, but it was just a car, not an object of affection.
