Car fire on Central Avenue

A moment after I took the photo I showed yesterday, I saw this cloud of smoke coming from what appeared to be a car fire at Central and Thomas Avenues, a little less than one mile from our office.

I think everyone was OK, as the smoke lasted for only a moment. I hope that they had good insurance coverage.

The white building in the right foreground is the headquarters of U-Haul International, one of the leading privately held companies based in Phoenix.
This week we are showing photos of the Villa Balbianello at Lake Como, Italy on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

The car fire is sad for that family. The greatest worry about Central Avenue is drivers and pedestrians staying clear of the light rail trains that run down the middle of the street.

Seemed like the day for moving vehicles or tankers catching on fire here in the valley...hopefully no one got hurt...your posts will remind me to stay off of Central, sounds like lots of things happen there.

A birds-eye view of everything on the street. Neat!

Yeah, it's probably a car, or some kind of automobile, judging from the location on the road. A lot of damage must have been done to cause that much smoke that's noticeable from the distance. It's a real shame, too, to see such damage.

Well, here's to hoping that no one was seriously hurt!
