Here is a photo in my series on the Arizona Inn. This is the front entrance to this lovely Arizona icon.
Isabella Greenway started the Arizona Inn in 193o, during the depression as a way to employ veterans who built fabulous furniture for the resort.
Isabella Greenway was very close to Eleanor Roosevelt and married a Rough Rider or two.
Isabella was also Arizona's first congresswoman.

Isabella Greenway's first husband passed away, and she later married his best friend, both of whom were friends of Theodore Roosevelt and former Rough Riders.
Theodore Roosevelt attended her wedding while he was President. Isabella Greenway was in the wedding party for the marriage of Eleanor and Franklin Roosevelt.
She had an amazing sense of social conscience.
