Photo: Purple Flowers at the Dam

I showed the desolate terrain yesterday and mentioned a few days ago that there is a trail that leads from a parking area up to the Hoover Dam bypass bridge. Even in these harsh conditions, there is beauty in the desert.

These tiny, delicate flowers were growing seemingly out of the rock alongside the trail leading up to the bridge.

Today is Sunday so check out fabulous travel photos of our recent trip to Africa at Viva la Voyage!

So fascinating...the grand scale you've been showing us of late, and then this tiny, tiny detail, so delicate.

It never ceases to amaze me Julie how and where plants manage to grow, in the worst conditions, even seemingly without soil. Nature sure is determined!

After the depressing information about the working conditions in building the dam, it was time to show flowers.

It is always such a pleasant surprise to see plants growing in areas where there seems to be no soil or water. This is a beautiful example.
