Photo: Papery Red Cactus Flowers

Here is a photo at my front door where these cactus flowers started blooming.

I love to see so many cactus flowers at this time of the year.

These red flowers lasted about 24 hours and they were papery thin and delicate.

You can see the cactus reaching towards the sunlight as they grow.

Check out fabulous photos from intriguing Easter Island at Viva la Voyage!

What pretty blooms! 24 hours is a short time to enjoy them.

How such small cacti produce such large flowers is amazing. Maybe that is why they only last for a day. It must be too much effort for them.
