Photo: Chuckawalla

Here is a photo of a chuckawalla lizard in the desert and a white flower at its feet.

He has quite tough looking skin.

Lizards look so prehistoric and are very cool. I like them all including Iguanas and Horned toads.

I like them too.
The skin seems to be red, almost as the rock.

I agree, looking at lizards is like getting a glimpse through a window into the earth's distant past.

Cute little critter! My wife absolutely hates them! Our cat? He loves them!

Because you live in Arizona and spend time in Costa Rica, it is a good thing that you like lizards and iguanas.

I wonder why it is that some people like lizards but not snakes. I like lizards and would respectfully approach any of them but a GIla monsters. Snakes, I would not approach, even if they are not a rattler.

I love lizards too! This one looks like he's a little small for his skin.

Nice photo of this guy. We don't see as many of the Horned Toads as we used too. They have probably moved further into the protection of the desert.
