Photo: Close up of Quail Egg

Tomorrow will be the last day of my photographic study of quail eggs and nest.

This photo shows good detail of the Gambel Quail egg, including the spots on the egg.

Quail eggs are supposed to have spots and each egg looks unique.

Check out our travel photos of the stunning Island of Hvar off the Dalmation Coast at Viva la Voyage!

Like that understated tension introduced by the balance of that delicate top egg.

Occasionally I see quail or quail eggs on a restaurant menu, but I could never eat either. Quail are too cute. And both the birds and the eggs are too small.

Some people go quail hunting in the desert. I don't understand that, either. I would never want to kill an animal other than a insect pests. In addition, quail don't fly very much. It is possible to walk fairly close to them. There does not seem to be much sport in walking up and shooting quail.
