Yucca at Biosphere 2

Here is a photo of a yucca in front of the modern structures that have been added at Biosphere 2 for researchers and students to live in and attend class.

In 2007, the University of Arizona has taken over the site to study climate change.

The project has not had people living in it sealed off from the world since the 1990s, but there are still lots of research and testing opportunities to be performed at the project. It is a living laboratory for scientists and researchers.

For about nine years, Columbia University ran a research site and campus at Biosphere 2.

Check out our travel photos of the fabulous architecture of India at Viva la Voyage!

It is good that the University of Arizona is making use of the facility for research. This looks like too large of an investment to allow it to go to waste.

I'm so happy you visited and shared! We simply did not have time to include this on our trip to Tucson. Maybe "next time."
