Underneath Biosphere 2

As part of the tour at Biospehre 2, you get to walk through the underground infrastructure.

Here is a photo of the piping at Biosphere 2.

Heating and cooling water circulated through independent piping systems.

Electrical power was supplied by an onsite natural gas energy center through airtight penetrations.

Check out intriguing travel photos of Uluru, Australia at Viva la Voyage!

Like other parts of the Biosphere 2, this looks like a scene from a science fiction movie.

This is so aesthetically pleasing. The attention to detail in Biosphere 2 was remarkable.

It kind of looks like the bottom of a ship.

It does look like it could be a lot of things! Like a ship or a bobsled tunnel. They really spared no expense for that Biosphere 2.

I agree that it does seem like science fiction! It is beautiful.

Sometimes the 'backstage' is as interesting as the thing itself. Wonderful series, Julie!

These are great. I'm so glad your doing this.

That medical doctor you mentioned in Biosphere One was Roy Walford. He was my partners Venice landlord for a number of years. He was also the preeminent scholar on the aging process over at UCLA. Yup, he brought us the eat less live longer concept. And yup, he's dead now.
