Lady Slipper Flower

Such a delicate lady slipper flower that was patiently waiting in my backyard so I could photograph it.

I like the color of the flower and the fragile way it looks on top of the green stalk that almost looks like bamboo, but it is not bamboo.

I really like my lady slipper plants. They grow slowly and are hard to get started, but mine have taken off in the backyard and are blossoming regularly.

The hummingbirds love this plant.

I do have to keep rabbit cages around the bottom of the slipper plants that are growing on the ground to avoid rabbits breaking the stems and drinking the water out of them.
