Catalina Mountains and the Moon

Here is a photo of the Catalina Mountains in Tucson with a full moon.

I was recently in Tucson so I will take you on a photo tour of the sights of a city that is much older than the Phoenix.

Phoenix was not founded until the 1880s; whereas, Tucson was founded in 1775. There is evidence of agricultural settlements in Tucson dating back to 1,000 B.C. The Hohokam culture thrived in the area from 200 A.D. to 1450 A.D.

Today is Sunday so we have travel photos of Peru posted at Viva la Voyage!

The color of the condominiums you showed during the past two days is similar to the color of the mountains you are showing today.

Played golf at the foot of these mountains several times. Beautiful place to play golf. Looking forward to your series.

Oh yes, the Catalina Mountains. And Mt Lemon. Found lots of gold there but way back when it was still a wilderness.

Nicely done, Julie! Fantastic colors. I always like Tucson but thought it was even hotter than Phoenix. No?

Love the dark shadows in contrast to the orange mountains.

That is a stunning shot Julie! I have only driven through Tucson and it was at night so I didn't get to see much.
