Elegant F in the Sand

Here is the fancy F for the Fairmont Princess in Scottsdale.

It is a very unique touch to have such an elegant F imprinted into the sand in cigarette receptacles at the resort.

This is a modern day Zen approach to playing in the sand with small tools to create a visually aesthetically marketing brand when placing discards in this container.

Some may say it is art and some will say it is branding.

Check out gorgeous winter holiday photos in Vienna at Viva la Voyage!

Art or branding — who says they can't mix? Very nice.

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas, Julie! Wishing you a joyful, peaceful and love-filled new year.

F is for fancy and F is for Fairmont! My wife and I stayed at the San Francisco Fairmont and I attended a Rotary lunch meeting at the Dallas Fairmont! cheers

The best part of this cigarette receptacle is that no one has been smoking and messed up the design since the last time that a staff person made the imprint in the sand.

At the Scottsdale Fairmont Princess, the corridors and elevator lobbies are outdoors, so I guess smoking might be allowed. At a more typical hotel with indoor corridors and elevator lobbies, there would be no reason for a receptacle for cigarettes because there would be no smoking allowed.

I've always liked this elegant touch. I'd hate to be the smoker who messes it up with a cigarette butt.

I hope that this beautiful design will deter smokers. Happy New Year 2010!
