The aloe vera is a medicinal plant that is popular in many cultures. It is also known as the burn plant. We use it a lot in Arizona by putting the oils on our skin when we get sunburned. You just pull a stem off the plant and bend it in two and place the juice on the sunburn.
The official name is barbadensis and the plant is part of the Lillaceae (lilly) family. The rosette grows approximately two feet high and the aloe vera has over 20 minerals.

I've never seen one in bloom. Thank you, Julie.
We have used them for years on sunburn. Never drank it though.
Great close-up! These blooms are so pretty especially when they are in groups.
I've never seen an aloe bloom. Very pretty!!
Beautiful orange flowers! I don't think they grown in Minnesota?!
Interesting. I've had an aloe plant before, but I never saw it bloom. Beautiful.
Looks somehow 'alive' to me.
Over here in Greece people would advice you to put joghurt upon the skin, which in fact, at least for me, did not help much.
Please have a wonderful Friday.
