The Wedge

I love this photo of The Wedge! That is the name for this place.

The angle of the narrow road going through this small gap between the mountain that was cut in two to allow for the passage of vehicles is dramatic.

I had tried to take photos earlier of it, but the sun was too bright and there was not as much color to enhance the textures. I waited for the 15 minutes of rain to slow and then I ran out in the street with my camera and quickly took this photo to capture the vibrant red colors of the mountains, clouds, and sky.

I took this photo close to the red sand dunes I have been posting and this location is outside of Page, Arizona on the way to Marble Canyon and the Vermillion Cliffs.

Yes, you've caught this beautifully, Julie.

With distracting scenery like this, it could be a challenge to concentrate on driving.

Scenery like this is what makes road trips so fun. Sometimes just seeing what's around the corner or in this case what's through the keyhole. Thanks for taking the time to get such a beautiful shot Julie.

Well we can see how this formation got it's name. but it could also be called the Big Vee. Did you check your back while taking this photo for cars coming at you at 65 mph? I'm sure you did a bit of multi-tasking for this.

Nice shots you have to wait for the right moment for them.
Yes it is a nice shot and reminds me of a similar place in west Greece.
