Flowers and Red Rock Before a Storm

Here is a photo of the red rock, sand dune, colorful flowers, and a single white flower.

I like the variety of textures in this photo.

It is hard to believe that the plants can grow on the steep sand dune mound and with the intense wind that blows threw the area.

How many of you have enjoyed walking or playing on sand dunes? Describe your experience with sand dunes.

We just returned from a ride in the U.P. and saw Maple Trees growing in sand dunes. Go figure.

I remember, many years ago, running down the side of a dune in White Sands, New Mexico. Gloriously hard work.

As a kid I played on the Indiana sandunes. Recently I visited the Coral Pink Sand Dunes in southern Utah. It's so fun to slide down the slopes and listen to the sound of sqeeky sand. Nice capture.

That lonesome white flower is lovely, do enlarge this one folks!

Sand dunes, ah yes. I get to walk on them each fall as I take a week off in Scania, that coastal southernmost province of Sweden. The best thing is that I can have them all to myself at this time of year as the tourists have left.

My favorite sand dunes experience was at the place in southern Utah that I mentioned before. I camped there for two days and we played and walked in the sand. I had my dogs then and they both loved playing in the sand. They would run and kick it up and chase each other. There was a trail along a cliff there that led to some petroglyphs.

Yeah, I tell you something about sand dunes. They get on my nerves! Onced, I was walking up one at the Lake Michigan lakeshore and fell down once I made it to the top! I had sand all up in my crack for the whole ride home!

When there is a WHY to live, one can bare nearly every HOW.

Walking across the dunes of the desert in Tunesia was one of the best moments in my life, making the desert my favourite place upon earth.

A wonderful life filled week for you.
