Bronze Native American Statue

This image cried out to be photographed. I like the minimalist look of the Agave and gorgeous bronze Native American statue in front of the museum wall. She looks alive, as though she is actively communicating with someone.

This statue is in front of the Berlin Gallery at the Heard Museum.  It is one of my favorite statues at the Heard Museum. The statue looks like a Navajo or Dine woman to me.

Growing up, I used to love the colorful, velvety full skirts the Navajo women wore, along with their beautiful turquoise squash blossom necklaces and silver and turquoise conch belts, bracelets, and other jewelry.

The little town I am "summering" in has bronzes all over town. They are so beautiful as is this piece you feature today.

This is SO Southwest, and I love it because of that. It reminds me of Santa Fe, my favorite American city. Who is the artist?

Why Berlin, do you know? You see, at first I thought you were in Germany. ;-) There's an extremely good ethnological museum with an incredible Native American section in Berlin.

Back to the topic. This statue is simply gorgeous, striking in its simplicity. I love it, thanks for sharing it.

She's probably complaining about the heat, given her apparel.

Perfect place for her. As Berlin has been seperated once and was broght together again - it is her returning to the nature and its plants she and her people might have enjoyed for many purposes.
