I went outside and got a very tall ladder so I could take some photos of the changing colors, the unusual clouds, and to try and capture these images before the rain started pouring. I will admit I stayed too long outside and did get me and my camera a little wet.
In tomorrow's photo I attempted to create a dramatic image that also lets you know you are in the Southwest.

Beautifully purple sky, Nicely shot!
Was there also 'purple rain'? : )
Old Phoenician proverb: Beware of lightning wile standing on tall ladders in monsoon storms and holding metal camera!! If you were a professional this would be an OSHA violation.
What a fantastic color!!
I love the way clouds set a mood. This is quite dramatic.
Great shot, great subject, great photographer! I'm just getting used to packing my camera with me at all times....didn't know I needed to pack a ladder, too. Learn something new every day! :)
I like your sky photograph. It looks natural.
Don't think too much about taking photos. Whatever you photograph is already there. It is like the David inside the marble. You just need to chip away to get down to him.
I have no idea what you learned at your photo school or lessons but I hope you learned to look.
A chair has many sides. Which side you choose determine the photo you get.
Great color Julie. I can't wait to see more. Thanks for stopping by our blog. That photo workshop is a real good reason for being busy.
Gorgeous purple capture, Julie! I love your photography, and can tell you're not the average shutterbug... keep learning, and I'll keep benefitting from it (in joy and astonishment).
Hello sweetie Julie!
wow fabulous picture, this sky is amazing!
Glad to know that you enjoyed a lot your workshop!I want to know more!!!!
have a great weekend dear friend,
Luna(from Brazil) and mommy Léia
Great, great sky. But don't get your camera wet!
My problem here is that it's so humid, I have to wait for 10 minutes for the condensation to clear every time I go out!
I remember those monsoons! The dry gulches became raging rivers and some idiot would always try to drive through them and sometimes would find a tragic end.
This is very beautiful, Julie.
Beautiful photo now all we need is another Prince concert!
And beneath a purple sky will be the Riders of the Purple Sage.
