SkySong

SkySong Arizona State University Innovation Center is located at Scottsdale and McDowell Roads in Scottsdale.

I love the shade structures on this building.  The design looks like we are in Alice in Wonderland.

SkySong is a catalyst for research and technology.  It is a mixed use project consisting of 1.2 million square feet of research, office, hotel and a convention center when it is fully built out. This location used to be Los Arcos shopping mall so this is a great re-use of the land.

Much, much, MUCH better than a mall!

Love the architecture too. Looks like tipis getting sucked into a fifth dimension or something. Which seems quite appropriate :)

I thought for a moment I was in Australia. I hope great minds assemble there to create some of the coming wonders on the 21st century. So, so much better than a mall.

The structure reminded me of a sea shell.

I was watching a programme on Tv it mentioned Scottsdale and I thought of your blog. Thanks to your blog i had a better picture of what scottsdale actually looked like>

Beautiful shot Julie. I've only seen this from a distance. I'll have to take a closer look sometime soon.

Looks like the Denver Airport.

It looks wonderful, and as you say, it is a much better re-use of the land. Looks like it would be a fun place to take pictures too.

You can see it from the hillside at the Botanical Gardens. It does look like tents in a tornado.

An unusual looking structure!

Fascinating design. A science center of the door could not guess it to be impressive.

Fantastic fun. This I don't remember for sure.

Spectacular architecture, desirable trend in re-using these spaces.

I love the name! This place reminds me of the Cirque du Soleil building at Downtown Disney in Orlando.

There are many shade structures of this kind nowadays but this is the most fantastic! It could be the set (not the tent) for Cirque du Soleil...!

Much better than just a straight-across sunshade.
