Nature's Color Symmetry

The Spring Butterfly Exhibit returns to the Desert Botanical Gardens at the Marshall Butterfly Pavilion. The colorful insects will roam free in the pavilion until May 31, 2009.

This is one of my favorite butterfly photos.  I love the color and the background.  Mariposas are so beautiful.  It is unfortunate that they have such short lives.

I visited the butterflies weekend before last and got some great photos. I have a collage of butterflies coming up tomorrow on my Phoenix Daily Photo site.

Neat picture, if you enlarge it the colors really jump out.

Beautiful butterfly, it is true that only enlarging the photo you can fully appreciate the colors.

Amazing photograph. I'm imagining what happens on May 31st when the exhibit is over.

Oh wow, the colors on the butterfly are so intense and beautiful.

I haven't seen a butterfly in years. I wonder why there aren't butterflies in NYC. Pollution, maybe?

belle prise photographique

Brassens

At first I thought it was a red admiral but then I realized it wasn't. I don't know what kind it is.

We had thunderstorms last night and lots of rain and lightening.

Amazing the vibrant colors you can find on butterfly wings. The backdrop helps them just pop.

Very pretty butterfly and background. Its wings are pretty, but I find the bodies of butterflys to be a little creepy looking. I guess I'm just not a bug person.
