El Pedegral

El Pedegral is a distinctive Scottsdale shopping area.  It is located near the Boulders Resort & Spa, the Heard Museum North, and Carefree.

El Pedegral has a unique southwestern and Moroccan-inspired architectural style.  It is situated among 12 million year old boulders.

Live music is regularly played at the Courtyard stage.  There are restaurants and interesting shops.

Love spending time wandering a shopping mall, but can't do that due to a tight schedule. I'm curious about southwestern style and seeing live music. I was wondering is this where they shot scenes of The Flinstone's? :).

How beautifully this is integrated into the surroundings. It looks as if a great deal of thought was put into this.

I don't get that far north very often. I love the way the center blends in to the scenery.

It's an absolutely gorgeous place! I love that huge cactus and the boulders. I would probably not get much shopping done here because I would be too busy looking at the scenery!

Without having been to Arizona this is exactly how I picture it to be. A very nice place:-)

Living currently in city of more than 5 million inhabitants, it was a welcome 'refreshment' so see that there are still beautiful places upon earth.

What a fascinating place! And those rocks are really old. I've got to tell my grandkids I've found something older than I am!

They won't believe it, though!

I agree that the architecture is stunning! And absolutely perfect for its location. The light touch of pastel paints is lovely too.
