I love this lookout. I can imagine the beautiful vistas that Frank and Olgivanna Wright must have enjoyed over the years. They would have been able to watch the glorious monsoons roll in and they drank from the colorful red sunsets blazing in the sky. The views from this 600 acre desert camp are awesome and especially starting in 1937.
You can see the Asian art pieces installed at the base of the walkway to the lookout. The angles and desert masonry are pleasing to the eye. I am sorry the day that I was photographing Taliesin West, I had an overcast day. I will try and get back there for a sunset some day.

tu as un beau cadeau sur ta photo, avec cet oiseau. j'aime cette structure , vraiment original et surprenant en plein désert.
you have a beautiful gift from your photo, with this bird. I like this structure, very original and surprising in the desert.
I was thinking what you wrote. I can imagine the amazing views they would have had.
Such a fantastic place. I really appreciate your sharing.
What a terrific shot. From the bird at the top to the vegetation at the bottom (with the tiny glimpse of mountain peak and the asian art in between).
There is a newly-published book about him that I probably should read. There are a few of his Prairie-style homes that I have seen in Chicago and Minneapolis, and I'd like to learn more about this complicated man.
You will enjoy the sunset tour. It is quite beautiful.
And here I am thinking that Arizona would only be desert without beauty :-) This is quite a view. And with a sunset I'm sure it'll be spectacular!
Would like to take the sunset tour.
Probably a lookout to take a view of the past, still able to provide more than life, even within a desert.
Enjoy looking at your photographs after my day ends (currently it's ten to three in the morning)- providing colourful dreams.
I'm sure enjoying these photos...for some reason I thought Wright didn't live here very long, but obviously, I was wrong about that, too.
At the very least, one must say it is an incredible structure!
Taliesin West is a truly magnificent piece of architecture. I've just gone over the photos that I missed and everything is just wonderful! Thank you for bringing us on your tour!
