The Yearlings

This horse statue is called "The Yearlings" and the artist is George-Ann Tognoni.

The statue is on the Scottsdale Mall in Old Town Scottsdale. Actually this photo is right next to the corner of the building where the creative artsy signage I showed in yesterday's photo is located.

Often there are musicians in this area.  I like listening to the Peruvian Andean musicians.  To see other art along the walkway,

This is a beautiful work of art. I love the way you show us your 'place', Julie, taking time to re-see things you've seen hundreds of time and make them fresh for us.

One of many fantastic horse statues that are scattered around Scottsdale. The city seems to have so many.

Some readers might be confused by the name Scottsdale Mall. It is not a shopping mall. It is more of a plaza, with walkways, grassy areas, scupture, and some water features, around which are restaurants, galleries, a hotel, the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, Scottsdale Center for the Arts, City Hall, the main library, etc.

There's something special about horses -- something like grace and power -- and when an artist can capture that, it's a wonderful thing.

I think this artist did it!

Love all the art you post. Glad you liked the Scottish Highlander cattle shot on our site. Then you seem to like nature too. You've got us determined to get to Scottsdale to see the Chihuly. Is his glass installation a permanent exhibit?

Do you ever participate in monochrome Monday? It brought a little more traffic and was fun.
