Cactus or Weaved Baskets?

The clean pattern of these cactus spines and areoles look like weaved baskets. I like this small and large grouping of the cacti growing together.

I do not know the exact name for this cactus, but it similar to Echinocereus pamanesiorum, which originates in Mexico and has pink flowers.

The cacti in Arizona will be blooming now so I am excited to start seeing the color and texture of the flowers that sometimes blossom from these amazing creatures of the Earth. Happy Wednesday!

Looks like you could put them on your Christmas tree.

Touching these, Julie, would definitely be prickly. Nice composition.

You're right, they do like baskets. Great shot!

I like your posts about cacti, though I enforce a "no thorns" succulent only policy.
This is a great macro, thank you.

I love these type of cacti that grow in clusters like this.

c'est gentil, il y a des petits coussins dessus ;o)) belle perspective. "le monde entier est un cactus"
it is nice, there are small cushions over ;o)) nice perspective. "the whole world is a cactus"

They have a crystal ball look about them. What a beautiful picture of an object of nature.

We actually have some native cactus but they're not anywhere as beautiful as these. I used to grow a lot of cacti, but never anything as large as these.

Very nice photo! Very cool. The only cactus that grows here is an Opuntia, which I hope will flower this year. ;-)

The clean pattern and the clean, crisp photo really do give a woven basket look. Cool pic.

PS - I've been meaning to mention that my husband's cousin and his wife live in Scottsdale. When we visited, we stayed at the hotel with a lake & had a great time on boats out there (it's been a few years but we usually went during spring break). We also ate at the restaurant at the Scottsdale airport a few times. It is really good.
