The Desert Path Looks Inviting

This desert path invites you to take a stroll to enjoy the trees, sun, and cactus.  The path takes you by an arroyo.  An arroyo is the Spanish word for an intermittently dry creek.  We have many arroyos in Arizona.

Enjoy the serenity and beauty of the Desert and make sure to catch the vibrant red sunset over the mountains.  Drink lots of water for desert hikes. This path is in the Desert Botanical Gardens, a great place to visit!

I used to walk along some of these around Tucson in 1952. A long time ago and by now I am guessing many of those have been replaced by asphalt.

I wrote in my Memories blog about the roads of my youth and how they were to travel in the winter time.

What a beautiful pathway through the trees and gorgeous stones along the way.

I surely would love to walk there! And see the cacti, of course! :-)
(We had a big strom last night, but gladly all the cacti on my terrace/balcony have survived, none of them is broken.)

Answering to your question, Vietnam and Botswana (the Okavango delta) are on top of my list. Let's see what will happen this year...
Is it your 1rst time in Marocco? You will love it! :-)

Aren't the paths at the Desert Botanical Gardens wonderful? They lead to so many different desert environments.

This is a great illustration that even in the sunny Arizona desert, there can be places of deep shade.

That reminds me of a quote from, I believe, the famous Civil War General Sherman, who lead an expedition across Arizona in the summer. He sent back two dispatches to Washington. I amy be paraphrasing, vvut I think they were as follows:

1. "In Arizona we were typically 6 miles from the nearest shade, 12 miles from the nearest water, and 4 feet from hell."

2. "We went to war with Mexico and won Arizona. We ought to go to war with Mexico again to make Mexico take it back."

How wrong he was. There is lots of vegetation and shade, as your photo today shows, and there is ample water in the Valley of the Sun.

Greetings from Juneau, Alaska!
I'll never forget my first trip to Arizona (Phoenix then on to Scottsdale). I felt like I had landed on Mars. It was such a different world compared to the temperate rain forest where I live.
The Mayo Clinic there is spectacular. They helped me deal with some major health issues. I also had a wonderful time visiting your city. It's beautiful!

I remember the paths near the Mayo Clinic being a welcomed treat after having numerous tests done (a variety of cactus, petrified wood, road runners, lizards,...). Have a wonderful day!

I do like this place and especially these round stones! So far from my gray sandy path...But spring is coming here too!

Is this really desert? I never imagine trees in the desert!

no dry creeks in this neck of the woods!

Looks like a nice path, not what I would expect for a desert path.

Very lovely path to enjoy, I can see!
And quite a different view compared with ours.
I read about your journeys to many, many countries, have you been in Scandinavia?
I will go with my husband in the end of April to China for two weeks :)

Sorry I am getting around so late to theme day -- we had the grandkids in this weekend.

This is a perfect path for Scottsdale.
