This is another of Stuart's photos from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. It shows the vastness of the Canyon, although it is only one small slice of the panorama.
There is a controversy in Arizona because there is a huge coal fired power plant in Page, Arizona, near the east end of the Grand Canyon. The federal government wants to reduce emissions from the Navajo Generating Station in order to reduce haze in the Grand Canyon. State and local business interests want to preserve the economic benefits of the power plant.
This week we have photos of daily life in Ethiopia posted on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.
I have only viewed the North Rim from the sky when I took a tour by plane one year during the winter. It was beautiful and covered in a bit of snow. I would love to go back and see it from the ground! These are wonderful pictures.

ReplyDeleteShut down the plant. Can't we at least have the 7 natural wonders of the world free from pollution and smog?
ReplyDeleteThere is plenty of open space elsewhere in AZ to put a power plant.
