Today's theme for Daily Photo blogs around the world is "tranquility." I think there is a tranquil atmosphere in this shaded lawn beside the Spanish Colonial architecture of the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Guadalupe, Arizona. This fits with the series I have been showing of the Old Adobe Mission in Scottsdale, although this church is not in Scottsdale.
Guadalupe is a small community just south of Tempe, and Tempe is just south of Scottsdale. Guadalupe is a community founded by Yaqui Indians who fled Mexico in 1900 because of persecution there. They have maintained their community and many of their customs for more than 100 years.
This week we have photos of the elegant villas and gardens of the Borromean Islands in Lake Maggiore, Italy, posted on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.
