This wall is about one mile (1.6 km) from our house. It decorates a wall along Goldwater Boulevard just south of Camelback, near Scottsdale Fashion Square.
I like public art such as this. It makes the city more festive and interesting. This wall is certainly much more attractive than a plain, straight wall, don't you agree?
The reason we have walls rather than fences is that wood fences would never be able to withstand the Arizona sun.
This week we are showing photos of a mussel ranch in Nova Scotia, Canada on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

How interesting that wood cannot withstand the Arizona sun.
ReplyDeleteThis is indeed so much more pleasant to drive by than a straight, plain wall.
ReplyDeleteGreat great shot. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI certainly agree that a decorated wall is more interesting than a plain one. And I like what they've done with this one. Glad you mentioned about the fences too. I had never thought about it, but it does make perfect sense that a wooden fence wouldn't work in such a hot state.
ReplyDeleteUm tema muito interessante, cercas, muros, impõe limites, limitam espaços

ReplyDeleteWishful thinking on this wall design in the Ariz. desert.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you pictured this wall. Everytime I drive by here I think I should stop some time to take some photos. I think this wall is so attractive.
ReplyDeleteI do agree Julie, this is a very artistic and creative wall. Perfect for today.
ReplyDeleteI love your fish fence today. I let Theme Day escape me this month. Maybe I'll get it together for Dec!

That's a very cool wall/fence. Didn't expect to see such large fish in the desert. Thanks for posting it.
ReplyDeleteVery unusual! I like the added touch of the rocks piled up behind the rusty metal.
ReplyDeleteHow extraordinary and really rather beautiful. Never seen anything quite like this before.
ReplyDeleteWhat an elaborate fence! It's really an artwork.
ReplyDeleteCertainly a fence with a difference - great work!
