Photo: Theme Day -- Chimneys

Today's Daily Photo theme is Chimneys, so I am showing a Southwestern interpretation of the theme with this photo of chimeas.  These are pottery used like little outdoor fireplaces.

This row of chimeas was for sale at the Mexican market in Guadalupe, a small town comprised of Native Americans and Latinos located just south of Tempe, which is just south of Scottsdale.  Guadalupe was settled by Yaqui Indians who fled oppression in their homeland of Sonora, Mexico around 1900.  They have maintained their culture and have many religious celebrations.

    Your hubby had a creative "chimney" picture, but I think you've outdone him. I like these things. We had one on our pool patio at our old Ocala house. The grandkids used it in the winter time to stay warm at night and to cook marshmallows!

    Excellent take on the theme Julie, they almost look like a row of clowns that you see in a showgrounds where you try to get the ball in the mouth to win a prize.
