As I was with Julie when she took this photo, I can answer your question. This photo was taken from the Papago Buttes. We were there to take photos of the Phoenix skyline at sunset, but while waiting for sunset, the planes taking off from Sky Harbor Airport flew in front of these clouds.
Rob and Mandy,
This is probably not a 747. Phoenix has only one non-stop flight to Europe, a British Airways flight to London. That is probably the only route from Phoenix on which it would make sense to use a 747. I have seen 747 cargo planes flying in and out of Phoenix, though.
That's quite stunning - the black plane against those boiling clouds.
ReplyDeletewao..impressive giant cluster!. very nice photo, good catch.
ReplyDeleteGreetings..
An interesting capture, Julie. Amazing cloud and contrast between densities.
ReplyDeleteNice shot! Looks like a 747.
ReplyDeleteWow! It is great! But, from where You take the photo?
ReplyDeleteThose clouds look so thick that the plane might get tangled in them.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot. The clouds are beautiful
