Today's photo is one I took of Chihuly's art work when he had his installation at the Desert Botanical Gardens.These were called Mirrored Hornets.
They are eye catching, especially sitting in the desert rock. Quite a contrast.

I guess the heads, bodies and wings are supposed to have burrowed into the ground and only the tail is visible. While I have no doubt that Chihuly could have made the rest of the hornets, it would have been too much realism for the rest of the exhibit.
