Photo: Concert Venue in a Residence

There were seats for about 50 people in the living room and balcony of the David Dodge residence next to Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesen West School of Architecture in Scottsdale.

David Dodge is an award wining architect. His home includes touches of Wright's influence, including a collection of Asian art. This is part of the living room where we sat for the concert.

David Dodge is more than an architect. He has other artistic talents, as I will explain in a couple of days.

We have photos of the churches and lobsters of Nova Scotia on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site this week.

  1. I think people are inherently attracted to and interested in other people's homes, as they are a reflection of the personality of people. That is especially true for an event such as this, which was held in the home of the architect to designed it.

  4. It looks like a pretty intimate space for the concert. You two were fortunate to be there.

  5. with all due respect, it reminds me of the Brady Bunch house (very contemporary) after all, Mike Brady was an architect, too!

    What a groovy pad!

  6. A residential concert venue is more personal, and there are many conversational pieces within it before a concerto starts. That is why it is nice to experience this type of musical events.
