Buckthorn Fruit in Sedona

Here is a close-up photo of fresh growth of the fruit on yesterday's shrub from the buckthorn plant.

I took these macro photos when hiking at Red Rock Crossing in Sedona.

This image looks like a small green tomato. These are probably not edible though.

    Looks like a cross between a gourd and a tomato.

    Buckthorns here are considered an encroaching menace and people work diligently to destroy the creeping plants.
