Theme day: Funny Signs

Here is a photo of an odd sign for theme day.

This sign is located at Enchantment Resort and Spa in Sedona, Arizona.

Do you think that they chose 12 and 1/2 for the speed limit so people would pay attention to the speed limit?

Or did they have a committee who could not agree on 10 mph or 15 mph so they finally split the difference and used 12 1/2 mph?

Check out our travel photos of the magnificent pyramids of Chichen Itza at Viva la Voyage!

  1. That's funny! I think they could not decide between 10 and 15 mph.

  3. I'd live to see that ticket: GOING 13 1/2 in a 12 1/2 MPH zone!!!!

  8. If the committee was anything like our government, they never would have compromised. It must be an attention getter.

  9. That is a cute sign! They tried something similar to that here a few years back by posting a speed limit of 44mph on some of our canopy roads. The only problem was that people kept stealing the signs!

  11. Good find. I've seen lots of 19 mph signs, but never 12 1/2. I bet lots of drivers check their speedometers after reading that sign, though.

  15. Perhaps they thought 13 was unlucky so cut it.

  16. What an amazing find. Makes one wonder who after all will control the speed, around there.
Please have you all a nice Wednesday.

  17. Heeheehee! That should give both drivers and traffic enforcers a lot of headaches.

  18. Thirteen really would be an unlucky number in this neighborhood.

  19. I have seen these at various golf courses as well. I wonder if that's the top speed of a typical golf cart.
